Hi there! I'm Pooh Bird. I am the meanest thing with green wings this far north of the Rainforest.
Well not really, but from the way I growl I was hoping you'd think so. And before you snicker about my name, just know one thing; I didn't pick it. My first owner did. Yes, I know. I am another badly named Amazon Parrot. But my first owner was a nice lady with some very cute, young tasty kids... uh, I mean nice kids. Did I say tasty? Huh. I guess that's why I was given up for adoption so soon. Too bad my present owner doesn't let me bite everyone like the last ones did. Maybe if I could get away with it more often I'd get some respect and someone would finally change my name to something more dignified. Yeah, like 'Tiger' or 'Death on Wings'. Hey! Do you think I talk too much? 'Cause the last visitors said...

Okay, okay. Here's the rest of the gang...

The big blue bird on this play gym is Bubbles. She came to live with us a few months after I did. I think she's a bit neurotic 'cause she doesn't hang upside down and squeal at the top of her lungs like I do. I mean, after all, I am a really cool Double Yellow Headed Amazon and she is just a Blue and Gold Macaw. Amazons just look so much better than these guys when we hang upside down too, don't we?

My new owner, Mom, says that Bubbles is almost better, whatever that means. She also thinks that Bubbles is finally learning to play with her toys and be a normal Macaw. I remember Mom saying something about her being an adoptee like me, only she wasn't as exuberant and resilient as I am. I don't think I am resilient, I just am... MEEE!!!!!.....

This cheeky little thing is Zig Zag. He's a Sun Conure. I think he's a bit annoying, but everyone who visits says he's the sweetest thing they have ever seen. As if! I mean, c'mon! All he does is rub up against a human's face and puff his feathers out like a fluff ball all the time. What a kiss up! He barely even hangs upside down! See more of him here.

He does have one redeeming feature though, he isn't intimidated by the all the big bird's in this house. Nope, he's a lot like me. Rough, tough and always ready to rumble. Uh, unless you have a treat or something....

You know what? I am glad we don't have a better picture of this ridiculous Congo African Grey. Her name is Grey Girl and she drives me nuts!!! All day long she copies what I am saying and whenever she is out of her cage she steals my toys! Mom says she's very special and might even be a better talker than I am, but I think she'll always be jumping all my good lines.

If that isn't weird enough, she follows me around all day long like she doesn't have anything better to do than to bug me. Hey! I'm an important bird you know. If Mom had wanted me to baby-sit she should've gotten me an elephant or something. Now that's an intelligent animal....

All right. This puffed up ball of red feathers is Skipper. Skipper is a Greenwing Macaw. Mom got really excited about her when she saw her in a pet store one day and the next thing we all knew there was this gigantic baby bird living with us. She is supposed to be this hard to find species, but I think she isn't hard enough to find, if you get my meaning... Anyway, Mom says she is helping Bubbles get better, and I guess she is right. Bubbles doesn't overgroom her chest feathers anymore and she is learning to play with her toys by watching Skipper and me. See more of her here...

The best thing about this bird (if there can be a best thing - after all, she isn't an Amazon) is that she hangs upside down and squeals just like me. Skipper talks too and she doesn't copy me like that annoying Grey Girl...

Well, that's it for now. Check back soon to see what's changed! You never know, Mom might have regained her senses and realized I am the only bird she will ever need...
